Everyone who has visited Milos talk of its beautiful beaches, its traditional villages and its natural beauty.

The island of Milos is located 86 miles south of the port of Piraeus with which it is connected on a daily basis with high speed and conventional vessels. Furthermore, Milos is connected to Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos on a daily basis, too.

Milos encompasses an area of 151sq. km and its population is approximately 5,000 people. Most of the inhabitants live in 8 villages located mainly on the eastern part of the island. The capital of the island is Plaka, well-known for the splendid, elevated sea view over the bay of Milos, one of the largest natural harbors of the Mediterranean.

You should visit Adamas (Adamandas) the tourist center of the island, and Trypiti, where you will enjoy delicious traditional dishes at some of the finest restaurants and taverns of the island. Other remarkable destinations are the rest of the villages such as Triovasalos, Peran Triovasalos, Plakes, Pollonia and Zefyria.

In addition to Venus de Milo, Milos is also famous as a living geological museum and is well-known for its unique beaches that are as numerous as they are diverse. They come in all shapes and sizes: with fine sand, pebbles or rocky and always crystal-clear azure waters. Some of the most popular beaches of Milos are: Agia Kyriaki, Paliochori, Achivadolimni, Provatas, Triades, Papafrangas, Fyriplaka, Tsigrado, Plathiena, Gerontas, Agios Ioannis. Do not forget to visit the two most amazing places of the island, the old pirate hide-outs of Sarakiniko and Kleftiko.

It is also worthwhile visiting the museums of the island, the historical sites as well as going sightseeing in general. We are confident you will enjoy and fall in love with Milos and each of its fascinating aspects. You will find us in Adamas, at Riva Travel Agency, right next to Aggeliki Ice-Cream.
